Privacy Policy

tanaytoshniwal.dev is the personal portfolio of Tanay Toshniwal, an individual based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. It is a read-only site: there are no public accounts. This policy explains the little personal data it does handle, where it goes, and your rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and similar laws elsewhere.

1. Browsing the site

You can read every page without giving us any personal data. The site does not use advertising or tracking across other websites.

2. Contact form

If you use the contact form we receive your name, email address and message. They are emailed to our inbox through Resend and kept there as ordinary correspondence for as long as the conversation is relevant. They are not stored in the site database and are not used for marketing.

3. Newsletter

The newsletter mentioned on this site is the Crazy Verse publication. Subscribing happens on crazyverse.in and is governed by the Crazy Verse privacy policy.

4. Analytics, logs and error reports

  • Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) records page views and basic device information. Google may set cookies for this; see Google’s privacy policy for how it handles that data.
  • Sentry receives error reports when something breaks: the page, the browser and a technical stack trace. Query strings are removed from URLs before sending.
  • Cloudflare sits in front of the site for security and caching and keeps short-lived request logs (IP address, URL, time). Cloudflare Turnstile may be used on forms to block bots.
  • The server keeps limited request logs for debugging and rate limiting, including IP addresses, for a short period.

5. Cookies and browser storage

  • Local storage for your theme and display settings. This never leaves your device.
  • Analytics cookies set by Google, as described above.

6. Who processes data for us

  • Google LLC: Analytics and Tag Manager.
  • Supabase, Inc.: the database behind the site content, hosted on Amazon Web Services in Singapore.
  • DigitalOcean, LLC: the server that runs the site.
  • Cloudflare, Inc.: DNS, CDN, security and bot protection.
  • Resend, Inc.: delivering contact-form email.
  • Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry): error monitoring.
  • GitHub, Inc.: the site reads public repository statistics from GitHub; no visitor data is sent there.

We do not sell personal data. Providers may process data in Singapore, the United States or the European Union under their own safeguards.

7. Your rights

You can ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or raise a grievance, by emailing [email protected]. Tanay Toshniwal is the grievance officer for this site and will respond within the time the law requires. If you are not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Children

The site is general-audience reading. It does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18; if you believe it has, email us and we will delete it.

9. Changes

We will update this page when practices change and update the date at the top.
